Subdreamer skinning for Dummies

Introduction

I love Subdreamer,,,, what can I say...

Subdreamer has been everything I was ever looking for in a CMS (how cute is that line!). Subdreamer was perfect minus the odd feature that was above and beyond what core features would include and that was understandable of course. I was especially interested in how the Subdreamer skins and plugins system for customization purposes seemed to be something that a dummy like me with some trial and error effort could eventually tackle and make some changes on their own.

So as I've reached for the stars of the online heavens in my quest to become a web development guru........... the framework of Subdreamer was nearly perfect but the two areas I suffer in are both, I do not know how to code PHP for custom plugins, nor am I a talented designer to make custom skins. Doesn't sound like I'm in the right field eh? Well there are no limits on your hobbies or dreams in my opinion, so here I am.

I figured tackling the task of creating a wonderful and brilliant Subdreamer skin to suit several projects would be the easier of my two lackings to start with.

Skin it is, and I've also decided to document my Subdreamer skinning adventure to potentially help others with lesser skills then others like me do the same. Also, for those that do know how to make a skin, you should get some entertainment value from my struggles. ;)

I know only the very basics of CSS, PHP and web standards and I’m sure I’m going to get much here and there mixed up but we’ll just see how it goes!

So here we go.
