Everyone claims the mac is safer but realisticly isn't it less safe because most people on a mac are not as cautious as pc users. Pc users are running software firewalls to see what connections are coming in and out, (http://www.gustoes.com/forum_spam) sandboxing type software and other security type programs.
If someone personally knows you are on a mac seems they could target you better since they know you proably won't be looking for anything out of the ordinary.

What do you guys think

This is an example of clever spam.

While the message looked legitimate and the content of the post looked like someone genuinely asking for an opinion on Macs,,, there are a few things that don't add up.

Note: I have an advantage (well not really) over larger active forums, that being that my forum is not active (not by choice) thus I get to be skeptical of every posting I do get. :D

Was it Spam? Why yes it was. Damn it!

A few of the things my dedicated attention to this message found (because I have nothing better to do!) were as follows:
The company email address used as for a USA aerospace manufacturing company.
The timezone was set to GMT -12:00 Eniwetok, Kwajalein
Then I searched out the username within Google and found the same post on several other unrelated forums which is a good hint that the message is spam in one way or another.... so at this point looking closer at the message reveals the link.

Take a peak at the comma after the word "out," in this line:
"Pc users are running software firewalls to see what connections are coming in and out, (http://www.gustoes.com/forum_spam) sandboxing............."

You will see that the spam has hidden a link with the comma. I have replaced the link of course but it originally pointed to some mp3 download site per usual.

Buggers!!
